Booths
A booth is a set of speakers with one or more control points. Standing at a control point, a player opens the music window already connected to the booth. The booth keeps its own favorites and playlists (saved in the database), and what plays comes out of every speaker, for everyone nearby.
The booth panel
Staff (the framework admin permission or the group.admin ace) manage booths from the admin hub: open /tmadmin and pick Music. The panel lists every saved booth and edits the one you select:
- Name, volume, speaker range and allowed groups. Groups are a comma separated list of jobs, gangs or groups.
police, sheriffallows either,police:2needs grade 2 or higher, empty is everyone. - Speakers and control points. Add one with Place and the in-world placement tool opens: walk or fly to the spot and confirm. Remove one from its row. Adding or removing a speaker or control point rebuilds the booth, which stops what it was playing, so the panel asks first.
- Teleport to the booth and Delete it (this also deletes its saved songs).
- New booth asks for an id (letters, digits,
_,-and., up to 60) and a display name, then you place the first speaker and, if you want it somewhere else, the control point.
Booths are saved in the tm_music_booths table and appear for every player at once.
Commands
The same things from a chat or the console, standing where the booth goes: /tm:musicbooth (/musicbooth works too).
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/tm:musicbooth add <name> [label] | Creates a booth here with one speaker and one control point. |
/tm:musicbooth speaker <name> | Adds another speaker at your position. |
/tm:musicbooth control <name> | Adds another control point at your position. |
/tm:musicbooth remove <name> | Deletes the booth and its saved library. |
/tm:musicbooth list | Lists the booths. |
How players use it
- With a target system (ox_target or qb-target) a control point is a target option, Music (label).
- Without one, the player sees
[E] Open musicnext to the control point. - Both need the player to be at the control point (the Control point radius setting). Connecting works within the Connect range of the speakers.
- Only one person controls a booth at a time. Anyone else is told so and can ask from the Play on list, and the controller allows or denies.
- Closing the window disconnects from the booth. The music keeps playing.
A booth with no groups set is open to everyone. Another resource can register a booth with the groups field too (see Exports).
Speaker volume
Each speaker follows the booth volume. In the Play on sheet the controller can switch a speaker to its own volume. The range a speaker carries is set per booth in the panel, and the Booth speaker range setting is the default for new ones.
